The final installment of the Africa Rally Championship round will be held in Chisamba, Zambia on the 21st and 22nd October 2017.
With only 3 weeks to go till the Zambia International Motor Rally. The Taj Pamodzi hotel has unveiled their sponsorship of over 15 000 US Dollars towards the event. This will be in form of hosting of the Rally headquarters and making available 3 rooms and conference halls for the rally organisation.
The sponsorship package was unveiled on Tuesday 3rd of October 2017 and the official launch of the Zambia International Rally. The rally was officially Launched by ZMSA president Sam Chin’gambu. Mr Chin’gambu said the event has attracted more than 35 entries 6 of which are foreign crews and 29 local crews. The even has been spiced up with the confirmed entry of former African Champions, Muna Singh Sr, Jassy Singh, current 1600 2016 ARC champion Ismail Shermohamed.
The rally will also see the entry of Giancalo Davite driving under the Belgium license and Cobus from South Africa.
Speaking at the same function Deputy Clerck of Course Elmandy Gumboh informed the media that all was on course with just minor ends to be sorted.
The clerk of course said the rally will be run on two days with leg one having two stages and being run on 21st October 2017 with leg two running on 22nd October 2017. The rally will be run in Chisamba at Graham farms with entry on both days being K 20 Kwacha.
Leg one will have 3 stages total distance is 119.48 kilometers and the total road section is 76.89 kilometers. On Sunday leg two will have competitive distance 64.32 kilometers with the road section having 13.77 kilometers. The total stage distance of the rally will be 183.80 and road section will be 90.66 kilometers
